NORSEAL® for Acoustical Control in Construction

Soft, closed-cell foam by its very nature acts as a barrier to sound infiltration. The multitude of tiny cells act like shock absorbers to seal and dampen vibration. A proper gasket will interface between two dissimilar surfaces. Unlike traditional sealing methods such as caulks, mastics or pre-compressed materials, our foam tapes are easier to handle, compressible to create a superior seal, and will dampen vibration.

Typical Application
Maximize the control of airborne sound transmission around your wall system by using NORSEAL closed cell foams. NORSEAL foams are supplied in easy to use rolls with an aggressive adhesive to make application onto floor tracks and corner studs simple and accurate, and unlike gunnable sealants, NORSEAL can be pre-applied. Because it is soft and compressible, NORSEAL conforms very well to irregular surfaces to fill gaps and spaces where sound can flank a wall. Its closed cell structure provides an effective barrier to airborne sound transmission. NORSEAL 2521, 4031 and 5041 are certified B1, according to DIN4102 norm.
